You must make a left turn every day at a freeway exit and your motorcycle is not heavy enough to activate a change to green so can you legally turn left on a red arrow in CA? |

Answer
No, you'll get a ticket for making an illegal turn or running a red signal. If nobody else is there to trip the signal for you, you might just need to turn right and go around the block (or make a legal U-turn) if you want to avoid a large fine and points on your license.
By the way, most traffic signals are triggered by loops detecting the presence of steel/iron, not the weight of a vehicle. The problem is many bikes (especially sportbikes) are aluminum.
You can check in your area whether this issue has been taken care of or not. An alternative to running the light is to use a piece of iron that you can secure to your bike with tape or a zip tie. These are sold specifically for this purpose.
