Answer
Well, if you have the time to fight the ticket, you might get the amount reduced. Call the courthouse and check out what you have to do. The clerks may not have the authority to amend the charges based on what you say. Proof you might consider is having your daughter come to your court trial along with her picture ID (ie drivers license).
Answer
You can try to fight the ticket. But the laws in California have gotten tougher and tougher over the years for the lack of a seatbelt. $380.00 is a small price to pay for saving the life of your daughter. I have seen many times over the heartache caused by unbelted Adults as well as Children. Having 3 Children of my own From 9 - 21 years old. Its not worth the risk. If it were my daughter I would let her know what a value she is to me, and thank God that the officer just may have saved her life that day. Good luck and remember "Click It Or Ticket"
