Will peeing after sex help stop bladder infections? In: Womens Health |
[Edit] |
Answer
YES! Yes it will! I used to get very bad infections! I finally got a female doctor to help me find ways to preventing the bladder and UT infections.
Pee before and right after sex, or any play in that area. It will help clear away the bacteria and help prevent the germs from getting into the urinary tract and traveling to the bladder. I take cranberry extract pills regularly to help promote a healthy UT and bladder. If you feel an infection coming on, make a tea from parsley. It tastes really bad, but it really helps clear out the bacteria. just boil the parsley in some water, strain it and add some ice so you can drink it, don't add anything to it or it wont work the same. Shower! make sure you shower after sex, even if you do pee. You don't need to shower right after as long as you pee, but it helps keep the entire area clean and helps prevent infections. One last thing that is very important. If you wear a thong, or G-string panties, you need to stop! Unfortunately, this kind of underwear moves the bacteria from the backside to the front side very easily! And it doesn't allow for air flow which is needed to prevent infections.
I started following the things above about a year ago and I have not had any infections, whereas before that I would get them once a month or more. I have a very active sex life with my husband, so I need to be sure I can still partake in our activities. Trust me, follow these steps and ask your doctor (a female doctor) and you will have a much easier time.
Good luck
Answer
Peeing after sex definately helps prevent bladder infections. Without urinating after sex I am guaranteed a bladder infection within the week to follow. Beware of antibiotics from the doctor- they are your cure for the bladder infection, (yeah!) but you may find yourself back to get yeast infection treatment. Don't be discouraged, you aren't dying... it can be quite painful, but with a doctor's help (and both treatments), it will go away.
