Maybe your computer's DVD drive is not equiped to take the game, or you could not have enough RAM to store it.

It would be helpful to know what you are trying to install and what system you are trying to install it on. The DVD drive is probably OK. RAM is always a good place to start but again we'd need to know more about the machine.
