Why was Armistice Day changed to Veterans' Day? |
[Edit] |
At the time, WWI was the "war to end all wars". When the treaty was signed, it was the GREAT ARMISTICE since there wouldn't be any more "great" wars. Since then there have of course been many wars and it's now called veterans day to honor all vets.
The date marked the end of hostilities during World War 1. The occurrence of World War 2 created the desire to honor all veterans from all wars, not just the 'Big One.'<br>
