Why penguins live in Antarctica only?

They don't some penguin species live as far north as the Galapagos Islands.

They exist mostly in the Antarctic because of continental drift.Antarctic fossils show that it was once situated further north and had a temparate climate. Penguins are decendants of birds from that time.
