Why might renewable energy not always work?

In: Energy
[Edit]
Not thinking of any particular source, it might be that there is not a large enough supply to meet the need, or the renewing of the source may be too slow or too difficult to manage technologically. These are reasons to be looking to many different possible sources in the future rather than just one main source. It's also possible that some renewable sources may cause serious pollution problems.
