Why do the Christians think that it was wrong to kill the Jews if the Jews killed Jesus? In: Holocaust [Recategorize] |
Answer
This is a really strange question with several answers.
First of all, to clarify: the Jews did not kill Jesus. The Catholic Church even issued an apology for that one.
Second, Jesus was never a king. He was a rabbi, a teacher.
Third, you don't have to be Jewish to hate Nazis.
Fourth, Hitler killed plenty of Catholics, homosexuals, Roma, Poles, Czechs, Ukrainians, Communists -- not just Jews.
Fifth, Jesus, himself, was a Jew. It would be most inconsistent for anyone who claims to be a Christian and a follower of Jesus to hate Jews. Jesus never taught against Judaism; in fact, his teachings were mostly in line with Jewish beliefs of the time. His teachings were different in a few small ways but, for the most part, were very consistent with his audience who were typical Jews of the time.
Answer
The Jews were responsible for bringing Him before the Romans to have him crucified. Had the Jews of the time not taken Jesus to them and pleaded for His death, He never would have died. So, the Jews of the time are quite responsible for His death, as much as the Roman who pounded the nails into His hands.
Not to generalize it all and say that Catholics hate Hitler for killing the Jews, but it is good that men are bothered by what Hitler did. First off, to hold bias against an entire race of people because of what their ancestors did 2000 years go is hideous. The man who wishes a death sentence on an entire race of people is missing the point altogether, and I'm quite sure that man has a surprise coming on judgment day. What the Jews did was prophesied: bruised for our transgressions, by his stripes we are healed. Any Christian, regardless of denomination, would realize that this is not a battle of flesh and blood here on earth since the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Rather, it is a spiritual battle as God works out His will on Earth, that men should keep His law and now be forgiven of their sins by receiving what He has done in His Son Jesus Christ.
No bloodthirsty man who loves what Hitler did is a Christian, whether he claims to be a Catholic, Baptist, or Evangelical. Any man who applauds Hitler will meet him someday after the judgment.
Answer
In the Bible it says to forgive. It also says Jesus came to Earth to die for our sins. But be aware: I am only 11.

While you can see from the previous that the question presumes as facts things that simply aren't true at all, may I ask you also consider:
The supposition itself is something promoted, frequently by hate groups with an agenda they want others to endorse to infurate and spur discrimination. Similar to saying things like all Blacks are dumber than Whites, violent, etc. The Nazi's themselves, (who did not generally endorse religion), promoted the same argument as it helped make their cause acceptable to others. That Nazi's liked Christianity, or accepted any religion, wouldn't be true. Likely they would have moved on to Catholics at some point in their hatred is reasonable - there are many equally true or not oft repeated ideas that infuriate others about the Catholics. Other christian groups may well have been next. In fact, many of the communist areas followed this similar route. (Much of the Nazi attacks were made not so much for any religious or real Aryan purity reasons as that any sub group is a challenge to a ruling or trying to get to rule one).
However, isn't it more disturbing that you can so easily seem to accept, even promote, that Christians should find it entirely proper to hate others, for any reason?
Answer
Ive studdied Christianity and Islam for about 7 years now and I can say for certain the reason Jews of the past went through so much hell from people like hitler and today in Israeal is because they got themselves into plenty of trouble. For starters they were responsible for the death of Jesus and some scholors believe that the prophet of the Muslims, Muhammad, was also assasinated by a jewish tribe. This tribe had sent a jewsih lady to the tribe of Muhammad and its believed that she gave him meat as a gift. The meat was poisonous and Muhammad ate it and died 3 days thereafter eating the meat. But its absurd to hold an entire group of people responsible for the crimes of their ancestors so its better to forgive and forget.
Answer
The above is so absurd, in so many ways, that I could only assume it was posted as a joke.
Then I realized..it isn't a joke...just another rehash of anti-semitic, even pro-nazi tactics. From above "...I can say for certain the reason Jews of the past went through so much hell from people like hitler and today in Isreal is because they got themselves into plenty of trouble. For starters..." I guess that since being a holocaust denier is not only illegal, but now even seen as dumb so quickly, the idea of not denying but saying the holocaust was the jews fault...they only got what they had coming...which is exactly one part of how the Nazi's justified their actions as they did it, or comforted and excused those doing them, comes back into play. Simply accepting any part of the above means your accepting some part of that ideal.
First, the Jews had lots and lots of problems - like the whole bondage in Eygpt (leading to Moses and the Exodus and reason for Passover), a zillion other tribulations - being conquered, tossed out of lands, plaques and more, for the thousands of years before Christ was even supposidly a character. So, to say the problems after Christ is a repercussion for any possible participation in his or some later persons death, is nonsense.
And the recent slaughter of the millions of Muslims (and Christians) in various areas of Africa (and still recent eastern europe - Boznia, etc.), that was because of exactly what that they or their ancestors did to whom?
And the hundreds of terrible things that have happened to peoples, many repeatidly, over the last however many hundreds or thousands of years....and think about the Asian history too...those things happened to them because they carried what curse?
The Nazi's killed many many people - of the 9 mill estimated to have died in the camps, 6 mill were estimated as Jews, the rest, very likely Christians...or other types of groups (gypsies, disabled, blacks, non aryan, etc.)...anyone that was a threat atrget or easy picking. Generally, G-ds most needy and deserving...so the Hitler as a revenge ordained by G-d for Jesus/Mohammed, doesn't hold too much water there either....unless your saying he would take all those other innocents just for kicks I guess. (Oh, by the way, that world war Hitler/Nazi/Germany initiated that caused so much hardship and death of all those loyal Christians, from all those virtually entirely Christian countries they had already been conquering and killing in for so long, like, France, Italy, Poland, and more...not to mention the Campaign through what was a rather Muslim Africa, etc., - according to the prior - I guess that was Hitler doing G-ds will and getting even....but for...what?)
The "problems the Jews have in Isreal..." comment; While certainly problems exist there...and presuming not dating to the time of G-d reserving it for the Jews, well before those other religions existed...but recently...you know - the "problem" that the Christian English gave the land to the Jews in 1948, not the Muslims? The problem that the Jews fought and defeated, (and then even had mercy on), all those Arab attackers several times over the next several decades...that it simply still exists as a Jewish state....are those the problems he refers to? None of those problems are internal to Isreal. No the problems they have are being viciously attacked by their Arab neighbors...who apparently haven't gotten the message this guy likes to apply to everything else...something like because of your past actions...G-d wills you to lose if you continue trying to hurt others.
Then the strange ending above...he feels it's justified and the Jews have it coming for all their terible misdeeds...so thats why the Almighty is allowing or encouraging bad things to happen to them (apparently, to them alone in this guys great study)...but unlike G-d, this guy is better than that...he forgives/forgets/doesn't carry a gruge...
