One of the delusions that we will clear up at the outset of this expose is the lie that leading Satanist's do not believe in or truly worship the devil. Susan Atkins told me that LaVey told her emphatically while she was in his home that they truly worshipped Satan as a real entity and as the one who began the initial rebellion against God. Atkins also stated:

Satanism is a Judeo-Christian concept. From the most predominant Christian teachings Satan represents anything that causes one to stray from a path of righteousness and worship of the one true God (who has manifested as Jesus Christ). So technically Satanism could include the worship of anyone or thing other than the Judeo-Christian God. According to the bible idolatry could be construed as a form of worship--e.g., obsessing over a rock band, money or a car. This might be a broad definition, but you have to look at the source of the modern popular concept of Satan and not at the abstract teachings of some cult group that may be motivated publicity, money, revenge, or spite. Consider this: If one truely believes Satan to be a real entity why would they worship him knowing the nature of such a diabolical and threatening force. The most likely answer is that they don't believe in Satan or Judeo-Christian theology at all--they are merely mocking majority opinion. (There is evidence of a pre-bible 'Shatan' figure, but we can adress that in another discussion.)

Satanists, those who actually follow the doctrine of Anton LaVey, do not actually believe in the existence of Satan or God. They merely chose the concept of Satan to represent free will. To them Satan represents the defiance of accepted doctrine and is shocking and offensive to faithful Christians who the Satanist disdain. Their "Black Mass" is a ritual that mocks the faith and rituals of the Catholic church. That is its sole purpose.

To paraphrase Anton LaVey: anyone who worships a god actually worships the man who invented that god; so if you wish to worship a god create your own.

Look, the REAL ACTUALLY "Church of Satan" DOES NOT WORSHIP SATAN.

Look, to put this as clearly and as bluntly as possible, The real Church of Satan worships nothing. All "Satanist's" are Atheists. They have come to the understanding and belief that there is no God nor Satan and that these two fictional entities are embodiments of humanity's good vs. evil desires and whatnot. In addition to this, they realize mankind is a creature of storytelling, mythology, and folklore, so they make-up fictional tales, usually in a religious and/or magical manner, for the sole purpose of entertaining themselves.

Atheists cannot be satanists because it would be absolutely illogical. If atheists do not believe that god exists, then how could they believe that something that God created existed. The Church of Satan has wised up to realize that sacrifices are now stereotypical, and they must now be more subtle, as Satan was more subtle with dealing with Eve after getting kicked out of heaven by God for his pride and sinful desire to be God.

A type of Satanism is based upon the belief that Satan will give you all that God takes away from the Christians, and that mankind with Satan (and the demons) outnumber God and his angels, though they never say that Satan only got 1/3 of the angels, as God retained 2/3 of them, though God allowed the schism to occur as it was part of God's will, which the Christians will never fully understand until we get to heaven and talk personally with Him about this and everything else.

A type of Satanism teaches that there are two forms of magic: lesser and greater, though they might call them by different names.

1) Lesser magic is through the leadership/deception of mass amounts of people for your cause, thereby forwarding the true goal, that of Satan (which is what the true Anti-Christ will do when the rapture takes place and millions die amongst mass hysteria)

2) Greater magic is through sacrifice, though it is more of a self sacrifice than an animal, though animals can still be used. However, the ultimate magic is through self sacrifice while having sex with your "loved" one, as truly passionate people sweat, bleed, and give off procreation fluids.

Animal sacrifice or any sacrifice is a strange, archaic type of satansim and, in fact, not satanism at all. The original question was referring to Laveyan Satanism, and they called it Satanism to annoy people. Theistic, or Traditional Satanism does worship Satan, but they do not see him as "evil". He is seen as the original and greatest god of them all.
