What problems does deforestation cause and what can you do about it? |
[Edit] |
The reasons deforestation occurs are complex, but permanent deforestation is chiefly because of human priorities that put an intact forest secondary to other wants and needs.
BEST ANSWER
the government must do something about deforestation. i think that everyday we should plant a tree, so that the tree supply will not run out. i for one have planted a tree seed in a small pot and when we are moving (a couple of weeks) i am going to plant a couple of trees at our new house. i say everyone/every family should plant a tree each day/week. that or we could complain to the government. =D

To be frank with you, nothing. Big companies that build homes and new comunitities, don't care about the fact they are destroying thousands of acres of wildlife that is needed by animals.
Stop destroying the forests, decrease the need for the amount of products that are harvested from the rain forests, enforce programs for recycling
Get involved and learn more about conservation from organizations such at Rainforest Action Network, Rainforest Alliance, Wildlife Conservation Society and Conservation International
That may be hard as a forest equal to the size of 20 football or rugby fields are lost every minute. everyone reading, complain to the government in letter/email/phone,etc.
You can plant more trees and cut down less trees.
Cut down the trees at a slower rate and make sure you are planting new ones and regenerating the forest at the same rate of even faster than you are cutting it down.
Start a recycling project in your community, if it is not already in place. Some states in the US will not accept garbage unless it's placed, in its respectable bin.
