If you read through the bible you will see that god is in fact a bloodthirsty killer who revels in inflicting pain and torment on his followers.
Satan could almost be regarded as a tragic hero in that he stood up against god.
I don't recall any truly evil act in the bible that could be attributed to Satan other than temptation ... and compared to the Great Flood and Sodom and Gomorrah this sin pales into insignificance.
