According to the biblical creation account in Genesis 1 the dinosaurs would have been made on day 6 before the creation of Adam and Eve, who were not cave people. A most likely scenario for the cave people is that they were those who sought shelter after the Babel dispersion. It is likely that at least some of the people groups were lacking in building technology for a time and so sought shelter in caves. Even those who had such technology may have found this shelter advantageous until proper dwellings were built.
