Which seat in the car is the safest to place a child safety seat? In: Child Safety [Recategorize] |
[Edit] |
Answer
If the vehicle has two rows, the middle of the back seat. If the vehicle has 3 rows, the middle of the second seat.
Answer
And that just about says it all. Even with side impact protection, airbags, door beams etc, the safest place for any child seat is as far as possible from the potential impact. The absolute middle fo the vehicle is ideal.
Answer
The above answers are correct. However, it is not always possible to put the seat in the center position. Some vehicles prohibit the use of the center position for a carseat (IE Chevy Blazer), so ALWAYS double check your vehical owners manual. Also sometimes the carseat won't fit well in the center position, so in such a case you would try it in the outboard positions. If it fits there better then in the center, it is better to have the seat in the outboard position. A great fit outboard is better then a poor fit center.
