I would say for the most part, people enjoy going to beaches, and warm places. So if that's your cup of tea, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Australia, Hawaii, Flordia, etc. If you are looking for a historic vacation, Europe and that area would suit you best. But really, it's wherever you'd like to go, Resorts are a good start because they're set up to make your vacation not a complete disaster.
