Where is the Petra located? |

Petra is located in Jordan southwest of the Dead Sea.
The coordinates for the starting point of the famous Siq (the deep chasm that leads into the ancient city) are:
30 19'19 by 35 27'39
It's just about half way between the southern tip of the Dead Sea and the northern tip of the Gulf of Aqaba and then a ways east.
It's just west of the Jordanian town of El-Gi.
I was there last week. Very, very cool.
