Filing an FDIC Claim

The FDIC currently guarantees checking and savings deposits in member banks up to $100,000 per depositor. Credit Union deposits are covered by the National Credit Union Administration. According to the FDIC, and in accordance with federal law, allowed claims are paid, after administrative expenses, in the following order of priority:

  • Depositors
  • General Unsecured Creditors
  • Subordinated Debt
  • Stockholders
