well, it all depends on the person and the price-range. If you are looking for expensive but nice shoes that last a while, I'd recommend Nordstrom. It is popular with clothes and purses as well as accessories.

Another great store is Bakers. If they might be a little to price-y, I recommend going to the clearance section of the store. I once brought a nice plaid flat and it cost 10 dollars. Is that a bargain or what?

Steve Madden has a wonderful collection of elegant shoes with a little flair added to them. They are crucial if going somewhere special.
