When will a child outgrow kicking and screaming tantrums?

[Edit]

Answer

Shortly after you begin to ignore them and leave the child by his or herself, no matter the setting. Children are social creatures and tantrums are a way to both gain attention and manipulate things their way. Ignoring them shows the tantrums don't work. Sonner or later, the child will figure out the more effective means of communication is using words to describe what he or she feels and wants.

Answer

Good answer! A very good effective way also is to say to them "I can't hear you, you are talking to loud." I would also practice the stare so that it should stop them cold in their tracks. The stare and when my mother would just walk away from my brother and looked interested in something else made him stop.
