Electric powered, there isn't much, but if you have a gas powered one, there are a lot of things including better fuel, a lighter body or a whole new engine.

Best way to do this is with an infra-red heat reader. Take note of engine temperature after every run,and adjust the carbs to lean side one increment at a time.

Many years ago, I met a man who worked on gas engines by re-boring the cylinders just like you do with a hot rod car. I don't know what is involved with this or there is anyone that does this for a fee. Something you could check into.
