Answer
Please try this before subjecting your child to medications (there is a dispute about this, but it sure can't hurt to try.)
Ritilan was the biggest mess of them all. Any child that showed signs of hyper-activity to the point of disrupting the class, etc., or didn't pay attention to who was speaking to them, were given Ritilan. It became nothing but a "quick fix" and was the wrong thing to do. There was a program on Ritilan last year and it did more physical damage to the child and helped little.
Take your child off all sugar! Many children do get hyper and do not break-down the sugar properly. Some of my friends had their children diagnosed with ADD and when nothing worked they went to a Homeopathic doctor and the child was taken off of all sugar. What a difference!
Give it a try and if in two weeks if you don't see a change in your child and don't find them more alert and attentive, then get a second opinion for the ADD diagnosis. Don't let the mood disorder fool you either. Just like alcohol can make some people plain nasty, sugar can do the same thing. Give it a try because you have nothing to lose and it won't harm your child.
Good luck
