What should you do if you caught your teenage son or daughter wearing diapers even though they don't wet the bed?

What is the big deal? Nobody ever died from wearing diapers as a teen. Ok, chances are he will NOT be into diapers when he is an adult. If he is then it will be on their court and they will get it solved. Teens get into crazy things. They like doing things we think are a little strange. I would just say let him do his thing. He will probably dislike it soon anyways. If you tell him that he wants to wear diapers, he will have to buy them himself, which then he will not have as much money to buy something long lasting and rememberable. Just go along with it and don't make him/her uptight because then you could send them into a world where they want to wear diapers and be like a baby so you will love them more.

I would compassionatley and understandingly talk to them about how they feel and why they do it. You have to keep in mind that there are many people out there that healthly wear diapers just for fun. They are called diaper lovers or adultbabies. It can be a hobby, fetish, alternative lifestyle or how someone likes to identify themselves as. We shouldn't be quick to judge or shun things just because they are different. They are not harming anything and are just being themselves.

It is very possible that your child does have a fetish of some sort. However, the best thing to do is ask them about it, don't get angry, and tell them that you respct their choice. Understand that it is probably not going to go and if you feel comfortable with it allow them to where diapers when they want. It is not harming anyone, and it is not healthy to supress something they can't control.

Many girls of all ages wear diapers for medical reasons or they just like wearing them. By girls wearing diapers it lets them urinate and sometimes have a bowl movement when they can't find a bathroom or it being inconveinent for them to stop at a bathroom. Many girls use diapers when their having their period because they will surely hold and not leak for how ever long they need. Also girls sometimes feel cramps and sometime it is so uncomfortable that having an immediate bowl movement would make them feel better. This way they won't have to feel the pain of holding it in.

Whether a boy or a girl, I think that is not funny or something to shrug off if a teenager is wearing diapers. Who is purchasing them? How long has this been going on?? It most probably is a fetish (some sexual arousal from an uncommon item). I would certainly talk to the teen and find out some answers. It is NOT normal for teens to wear diapers. I can't believe the above answers are so cavalier and suggest "it's no big deal". I think it is a big deal and should be investigated more thouroughly. It could be a silly habit or a fetish, BUT it could also be a sign of something more problematic in the childs life. If it were my child, I would be concerned enough to investigate further. It could be a sign of severe insecurity, lack of maturation or even sexual abuse on some level. I certainly would not ignore it, as a responsible parent. As far as some suggestions that it is a "convenient" way to have a bodily function, I think maybe those parents should enroll in a class, like mabey "RESPONSIBLE PARENTING 101". GOOD LUCK! Also, please have your child checked by a competent pediatrician to rule out any possible physical anomalies that could be affecting the child.

Can you rule out the fact that they may have a developed a physical condition that has caused them to begin wetting the bed? It may be something they feel uncomfortable talking about and a physical examination may be in order. That said, I wouldn't make a huge deal out of it - it could very well be completely harmless.
