There is no "one" reason men become gay.

Some people "are just born this way" which means that there is no physical or psychological reason. They are just attracted to other males. It is not proven to be genetic nor the way someone is bought up.

Others may have had a bad experience which makes them shy away from women and therefore look to other males for their sexual outlet.

Some people believe it to be "natural" saying that homosexuality is something that occurs frequently in other species and animals and has been prevalent in human history for as long as records have been kept.

There is a case of identical triplets - two are straight and one is gay. No-one knows the reason for it. The boys are genetically identical and have had the same upbringing and experiences in life.

The reasons for homosexuality are unproven and largely speculative which means that there is no "reason" after all.

I don't believe men OR women "become" gay. Most researches have concluded that for the most part, homosexuals are "born" that way; what might seem to witness as becoming gay is when after trying to be "straight".. they finally accept their true feelings, start living a homosexual life. Many have married and had children while acting straight, then just start acting true to their selves and "become" gay.

I agree with the above poster. A true gay is born this way. Many people will argue this point, but if a child can be born blind, without limbs, be both sexes, then why not gay. It's a matter of hormones! It is NOT true that some people cannot want to be gay. Some younger people are talked into it and it can be a way of life. Some young men/women may not get the satisfaction emotionally from the opposite sex and choose the same sex.

The popular theory that in use right now is that they are born that way. I readily dismiss this conclusion. Why? Are some people just born mean? What about more intelligent(mental illness aside)? Or how about some people are born athletes?

No, I believe the answer is choice plus third party stimuli. I am not saying that they made a wrong choice, but that they made a choice. Outside factors, such as the culture that they are around, societies labeling "you sound gay" or "he just looks gay", and contributing variables from upbringing. Also, they could have been raped, had an abusive mother, been molested, or many other things.

A previous poster stated that a couple had indentical triplets and that they were all raised the same. Could the parents provide proof of that? Time sheets for how many seconds they were with each kid, made sure they all had the same friends, dated the same persons, had the same classes at the same time. No, they didn't.

Any class in statistics points out there is always an error in calculations. You can only get rid of this error if you included in your hypothesis every variable out there.

The idea that a cold abusive mother can "make someone gay", went out with high button shoes. Same with abuse and rape. If YOU were a heterosexual male with no interest in other males in a sexual manner, would YOU suddenly dislike women sexually, and "turn" gay if you were raped or molested? As far as being born an athlete, you DO have to be born with a certain body type/muscle structure- then you have to want to be an athlete and work very hard at it. If you are born (geneticlly) with no muscle structure, you can spend the next ten years in a gym, and you won't have major arm and leg muscles and a 6-pac abs. You can IMPROVE what you've got, but you can't create something you never had. A teenage boy can be very athletic from day one, and never have a "ripped" body. Then you see a lazy teenage boy who lives at McDonalds, and they are very muscular. It's a mystery until you look at the father. Same exact body type. As far as intelligence, many parents who are very intelligent will have one child or more who is intelligent, and follow in their footsteps to become a scientist or a doctor etc... I'm NOT saying all, but a good percentage. If someone works very hard they can become a physician, but if the basic intelligence isn't there, it ain't gonna happen........just my personal opinion..........<<>>
