What is the proper way to cite information obtained from Internet articles in MLA format for a research paper? |
[Edit] |
Answer
MLA citations in text should always be (Last Name of Author and Page Number) as in (Thompson 112). For websites if page numbers are not available (sometimes they are) then just the last name. On the Works cited page, list the source as follows:
Last Name, First Name. "Article Name in Quotation Marks" _Main site underlined_. Date the page was posted or updated. Date you accessed the Information. <URL (web address)>.
Try http://www.liu.edu/CWIS/CWP/library/workshop/citmla.htm for more information, or search the internet for more information on MLA style. Several online writing labs and other sources are out there. You could also get a grammar handbook... almost all of them cover MLA style.
