Then you can explain that a male has a penis and a woman has a vagina. If the two adults want to have children or share intimate time together they have sexual intercourse. The male inserts his erect penis in to the females lubricated vagina. The male releases a fluid from his penis, called semen, that contains sperm. The sperm then travels through the females body and fertilizes her egg, causing her to become pregnant. But if the two adults are not ready for a baby, then they using contraception such as birth control pills or a condom. A condom is something like a glove that the doctor uses, but it only has one "finger" and it is slipped over the penis. This condom catches all the semen released during ejaculation that prevents the female from becoming pregnant.
