Prom dresses have become big business.
There are Web sites devoted to selling you a prom dress. But buying clothing online isn't something most people want to do, especially not with something as special as a prom dress. You need to be able to try it on.
Buying a used dress might be the best option. This is not something you are likely to wear more than once. Many brides these days even buy used wedding dresses. It doesn't have the stigma it once had.
