I got one with scope, three boxes of ammo and sling for $300 cash, but I think that was a good deal.

the "g" comes from the fact that it was marketed under "Glenfield arms." There were about 2900 made. It is apparently a less expensive model of the 3036, having a birchwood stock instead of oak.

There were actually 5930 of the Marlin Model 36G .30-.30's made between 1964-1966. They were a cheaper knock off of the model 3036. They came with a Birch Stock and a 20" standard Barrel. I have serial # AA 9323.
