[Edit] |
The two terms are not exactly interchangeable. The scientific approach is the philosophy and the values underpinning the research. These values include scepticism, determinism, disinterestedness, communalism- peer review, empiricism, honesty and ethics. The scientific method is the steps taken in the process of research; define question, gather information -observation/ Research . Form a hypothesis . Perform experiment and collect data . Analyze data .Interpret data and draw conclusions . Publish results.
