Definition of Polygamy

Polygamy applies to both men who have multiple wives, and women who have multiple husbands. For men, it is called polygyny, and for women, it is called polyandry.
Simple definition; Having more than two wives is Polygamy. Having two wives is Bigamy. Bigamy is also defined in a legal sense as a person who acquires more than one marriage license in an attempt to commit fraud, while polygamy usually contains only one recognized legal marriages and one or more ther marriages recognized by the church alone.
Polygamy is having multiple wives.
