Global warming is the increase in the averaged measured temperature of the Earth's near-surface air and oceans since the mid-20th century, and its projected continuation.

Global warming is the result of harmful gases (from us) sent into the atmosphere that broke down our ozone layer (which protects us from the suns harmful rays) also leaving us exposed to more heat, which is melting our ice caps leaving less livable area for arctic animals like polar bears and penguins, also flooding surrounding land.
