My wife and I have a 2006 HS6 GT. It has a HD "Big Bore" 95 VTwin. The tranny is a VW 4/1. All Rewaco trannys are VW, I think.

Rewaco also uses VW boxer engines, and we have even ridden a Rewaco with a Ford Focus engine. I have not heard of Honda engines being involved.

The Harley VTwin is a great choice. We would not have anything else.
