What do you do when children want to play and you do not?

first ask yourself if you do not want to play as well because you have chores or responsibilities to take care of. If so, this is normal. Truthfully it is also normal to just not want to play. Think on how kids sometimes just don't want to play with friends. Relax

Take into consideration the age of the child as well. There comes a time when kids can be told that "mommy or daddy has to finish doing this or that". Then suggest an activity.If this does not work and you must do something else or cannot play with your child because you don't feel "up to it". Then remember that your child deserves to be treated with respect and gently tell them that they must entertain themselves. Try finding a local play group. If you have a partner do speak with them about your feelings.

I have a drawer full of craft stuff for my kids for those exact moments when I need to do my chores and it happens to be chores they cannot help with.

Sometimes you just need a cup of tea and a quick moment to yourself. All parents know this feeling.

Sometimes you just have to let those pesky chores pile up and get on the floor and play! Why not have a tea break with your child, turn it into a fun moment. There will come a time when your child or children will not ask you to do much with them.
