What can a cosigner do to get released from a car sale contract?

[Edit]
Actually, you can refinance the car a year later and that will get the co-signer off the hook...provided you qualify of course. And it has to be through a different lender if the dealership initially approved your financing.

Answer

Kenny, someone has to have good enough credit to assure the LENDER that the loan will get paid. For you to get off the loan, someone else meeting those qualifications will have to sign the loan. OR you can pay the loan off.
