What are the technological improvements in soccer? |
[Edit] |
Answer
There are few improvements.
Equipment wise the improvements are in improved football design (lighter, and more responsive), improved boot design, new strip materials (lighter, cooler).
The others are in training/coaching facilities. There are many new technological improvements in injury recovery. From medical analysis equipment, to rehabilitation equipment. One high profile example would be david beckham's rehabilitation prior to the 2002 world cup involved spending time in a purpose built oxygen tent to speed the healing process.
Other areas of possible technological improvement, such as the refree, refree's assistant's (linesmen) and fourth official being linked by radio-headsets to aid communication are being debated/tested.
Others such as players having similar communications with their coaches, or the use of video replays to decide important refreeing decisions are often talked of in football commentry/analysis, but have not yet been tested.
