What are the odds of getting pregnant if you had unprotected sex about 3 hours after you took emergency contraception? |
[Edit] |
Old Answer
Emergency contrception induces a period, whether you conceived or not. So it's effective for however long it takes for the period to start. Definitely more than three hours.
New Answer
NOT TRUE. EC does NOT induce a period, it just prevents fertilization from occuring. It is effective for up to 120 hours after being taken. This does NOT mean you should use this time to practice unsafe methods. No sex, no matter how good, is worth brining an unwanted/unexpected child into the world. Your period may come earlier or later than usual, but will not be induced by the pill itself. But seriously.... do not celebrate doing the right thing by doing the wrong thing immediately afterwards.
