What are some good colleges or universities to go to if you want to major in political science? |
[Edit] |
Answer
It's all subjective! Obviously a well known school looks great on your resume, but there are so many other factors as well. If you intend on teaching the subject, the rule of them is that you will only be able to teach at a school as prestigous as the one you graduated from. So if you want to teach at Harvard, you should be getting your JD at Harvard or Yale.
For the sake of just a degree, and you don't intend on doing extra-cirriculars that relate to your major, it is in your best interest to go to a well name school because that's what is on your resume... schools like the one's listed below, Austin U or Stanford are all great schools.
However, if you're in the political arena right now, volunteering on a political campaign, being the personal admin assistant to the mayor, or working @ the local courts will ultimately weigh more than where you go to school. Experience always outway knowledge unfortunately in the work force. Employers want to know you can apply what you have learned in a real world environment.. something you don't learn in a class room.
