Answer
eating healthy, nutritious food is easier for your system to digest than empty calorie snacks high in fat, sugar and sodium. drink plenty of water. And a really good "old wives tale" that is sure proof for me is to place a paper bag directly on your stomach. I don't know how or why this helps, i just know it does.
Answer
Have a healthy breakfast that's high in fibre and contains as few animal products as possible. Then wait until you have a bowel movement before you get the car (if you don't normally have bowel movements in the morning, start with the high-fibre breakfasts a few days before you leave, so you will have morning BMs). Emptying out generally makes it easier for the digestive system to cope.
Drink cold water while in the car, and stop every hour or two to go to the bathroom. Don't get back into the car after a rest stop until any residual nausea has gone away. Eat light food, like soup and salad (with as little animal products as possible) for lunch, and brush your teeth before before getting back into the car. Try to avoid eating in the car. Save heavier meals for dinner, after you've finished the day's driving.
Sucking on a clear hard mint candy can take away some of the feeling of nausea until you have a moment to stop. Some people swear by mint tea or candied ginger. However, do not under any circumstances eat anything you do not like the taste of!
