It depends on how you categorize them. For instance, if you categorize them by who or what makes them, you could come up with a list. There are the manmade "bodily function" sounds. Some are inadvertent (hiccups, sneezes, coughs), and some are on purpose (talking, laughing, singing). There are the sounds that animals and other living things make (hums, chirps, whirring of wings). Wind, rain, snow, thunder and other natural noises. There are machine made sounds. Various types of sounds made by cars (bass boom, tire noise, engine noise), planes (sonic boom), trucks and so on. Factory noises. IBM selectric, keyboard and other noises. Another way you could categorize them is by matching the sound to a music note. Or a list of cause and effect of the speed of sound on an object (whistles, crackles, creaks).
