Hi Nicole,

Can you be more specific about what type of preparation? Do you mean career choice, academic preparation, college selection, or something else?

There is an awesome college planning company that helps high school students and student-athletes select the right college. They do everything for you including your financial aid forms, setting up personal college visitation and much more. Their website is cciinc.org

Goodluck!!

Answer

I used when I was searching for and applying to colleges last year. It's pretty helpful, and gives you some ideas to start with, but I'd watch out a little when they label your chances of getting into a certain school. Sometimes they rate you a little too high, especially if it's a state school that gets a lot of applications. Sometimes the schools they label as "saftey" are actually more of a "good match."

I highly reccomend visiting the campus to which you are applying, if possible. It really gives you a good idea of what the school is like. Don't worry about how prestigious the colleges that you apply to are-- just find the one that looks like a fun and comfortable place to learn.

Check out www.eCampusTours.com - you can view virtual campus tours of the campuses before you go to visit. There is all kinds of helpful college planning info there.
