[Edit]

Answer

If you want to help people and can handle the stress of when there is nothing else that can be done. Yes, it can be. Just like with any profession, you must have a passion for the work and be able to seperate your professional life from your personal life. Some people are not made to work with children in any capacity, let alone that of the world into the pysche, so be sure that is something you can handle.
