Is alternative medicine safe? |
[Edit] |
Answer
I find it surprising that someone would ask this question. This is especially the case after someone has been using conventional medicine for years, and has probably ignored the lists of potential side-effects.
Alternative medicine is technically as safe as eating a salad, as that is basically what you are doing in most cases. You are taking pills which give you the natural nutrients found in plants. Apart from being run by people who have nothing to gain, alternative medicine is significantly cheaper than conventional medicine, and does not just treat symptoms. It provides a solution to the root cause of your problem.
Acupuncture is generally regarded as safe and effective, but your success generally depends on the experience of the practitioner.
