Answer Cleaning the chain for 2-strokes

First of all, are you cleaning the chain each time you take it off properly in a bath of gasoline , air drying it and then re-lubricating it again before re-installing it with decent chain lubricant containing Moly such as PJ-40?. If not, simply rinse the outside dirt off and allow the lubricant inside the chain links to work! They are designed to repel water on the street or not. Every 3-4 rides, completely clean the inside and outside of the chain as described above. Please stop worrying about wearing out your MasterLink as it gets MUCH more wear just running normally. If, however, you choose NOT to lubricate a completely clean chain with a product like PJ 40, which goes on like a penetration oil and then thickens up inside the links with a Moly base, your chain will WEAR OUT very quickly!!
