Get out the crayons and colouring book . Have parents bring child 10 mins early and put child in another room away from parents with book and crayons .

Some children suffer from separation anxiety and it sounds as if this is the case. The above hints are great. You can also entice the child by telling them that if they are good, stop crying then you'll give them a big gold star when they go home for being so brave (show the gold star to the child.) Also, if you own a gentle dog or cat this also often works with children. More and more (especially dogs) are being introduced into groups of children because children simply seem to relate to them better.
