Not long at all...
It obviously depends on the method and equipment, but generally only 2-3 minutes. The best way is simply to put them in a pan, dry, over medium heat and shake them gently as they brown. The built-in oil content in the nuts makes it a quick process. Important: There are literally about 15 seconds from the time they look perfect until they begin to burn, so the best approach is to stand right there without taking your eye off it.
