How hot does water have to be to kill bacteria?

[Edit]

Well I'm not an expert first off, but I did recently do an experiment to see how hot water must be to kill E. coli. To kill general bacteria, 110˙f should be sufficient, but most people don't have the water that hot, because it's too hot for them.(you still need soap to kill bacteria). But there are different temperatures for different bacterias. Like Legionella requires the water to be 170˙f. Again I'm not an expert, but if you really want to kill bacteria then use bleach, because most people can not tolerate or afford to wash their dishes every day with that hot of water. I reccomend using a strong acid based soap. And just so you know, if you wash a dish in your water and it takes a while to dry on it's ow, then your not killing bacteria. The longer water is on anything, the more likely it is that bacteria will live.
