I would take it to the dealer. Especially if you have an airbag.
REMOVAL
- Disconnect battery negative cable from remote negative terminal on shock tower.
- Unplug field circuit from generator.
- Remove the B+ terminal nut and wire.
- Loosen top mounting ear bolt.
- Loosen pivot bolt, but do not remove. Be careful not to lose nut.
- Loosen adjusting bolt on idler to allow removal of the generator drive belt. Refer to Cooling System.
- Remove pivot bolt, do not drop spacer.
- Remove top mounting ear bolt.
- Remove upper generator bracket.
- Remove generator.
INSTALLATION
- For installation, reverse above procedures. Tighten all fasteners to the proper torque. Refer to the Torque Specifications chart at the rear Starting and Charging/Charging System/Charging.
