Answer EASY TO DO
I would guess that it depends on what kind of car or truck you have, but on my 90 4 Runner it was easy. I have little to no knowledge about this before I started. My cable is made in 2 sections. I tracked the cable from the rear wheels to were they joined. About the middle of truck. Then on to the fire wall hole where it enters the cab. That was the hardest part. A simple clip holds the cable ends in place. Just pull the clip and that end of the cable will come loose. I also had a pully wheel that guides that cable to the brake handle that needed to be removed. It was held in by a cotter pin. Another clip on the other end (under the truck) of the cable released the cable as well as another cotter pin to pull out. Resecure all the clips as it runs the lenth of the truck (2 or 3 in my case) when you get the new cable ran and that about does it. Just a note about my brake handle. It is the kind that is on a bar that you pull toward your hip. When my cable broke the 12 inch bar came all the way out of dash. I had to remove lower dash and hold two little spring loaded teeth up while I reinserted the bar into the hole.THIS WAS TO EASY TO PAY SOMEONE TO DO!!!
