(1) northwest across the Indian Ocean, through the Red Sea, Suez Canal and Mediterranean, with stops at Colombo, Bombay, Aden, Port Said and Gibralter; or
(2) around the Cape of Good Hope and up the west coast of Africa, with stops at Durban and Cape Town.
