YOU FERTILIZE IT. DONT GET ANY ON THE LEAVES IT WILL BURN THEM. DO NOT SIT PLANT IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT IMMEDIATELY AFTER DOING THIS. BESURE THE PLANT IS WATERED WELL NOT SATURATED BEFORE APPLICATION. LIQUID FERTILIZERS ARE BEST BUT NOT THE ONES THAT HAVE ANY COLOR TO THEM BUY POWDER YOU CAN MIX WITH WATER OR A CLEAR PREMIXED. THE FISH STICK ONES TAKE A LONG TIME TO ABSORB IN THE STICK FORM, IF YOU WANT TO USE THESE CRUSH THEM UP AND SPRINKLE ON TOP. GOOD LUCK
