Can you have sex during your period? In: Menstruation |
[Edit] |
Answer
There are a few risks to sex during menstruation.
- Many STD organisms thrive in the rich menstrual flow, so any STD contracted is likely to be worse than if contracted while you were not menstruating.
- HIV is more easily passed from an infected woman during her menses.
- Herpes infections often flare up during menstruation, making transmission easier.
- Some scientists believe that sex during menstruation puts a woman at higher risk of pelvic inflammatory disease.
It should also be noted that, even though this is the time when a woman is least likely to become pregnant, it is not impossible. Don't use menstruation as a contraceptive, because it doesn't work.
Answer
Yes, but many people prefer not to. Some guys don't want to know the "gory details" of your menstruation and some women find it unpleasant. Still, many people do enjoy sex during menstruation. In fact, many women are especially interested in sex during their periods because of hormones.
Answer
Orgasms during your period ease the cramps. Give it a try. Use a dark towel under you.
Answer
Sure, although it may be a little messy.
Please note that you still need to use birth control. Most women won't ovulate anytime near their periods, but a few women do, and sperm can stay inside you for a few days.
Answer
You can have sex while on your period. To help with the mess, get a product called the Instead cup. It is sold at Wal-Mart in the same section as the tampons. It fits over the cervix and keeps things from getting messy.
Answer
When me and my boyfriend had sex during my period it wasn't that bad. I didn't want to at first then I talked to my friend and she said that it wasn't messy at all. So we tried it and I didn't bleed at all and we still put a dark towel under us but my friend was right. It also made my cramps go away. If you bleed really bad then I would be sure to put a towel under you. Try to do it at the end of your period because usually you bleed more when you first start and in the middle. Also still use protection no matter what and JUST BE SAFE.

Of course you can have sex during your period, but I'd warn you that it's usually more painful. Also, it's going to be messy. So you might want to try and have something beneath you to catch the flow of your menstruation. Remember to use protection, and that you are at a higher risk of getting an STD when you are menstruating, only because of the more fluid flowing through your body at the entrance point.
