Can a slight gap between the front two teeth be closed without braces? In: Dental Health |
[Edit] |
Yes, go to www.teethgap.com. They sell a product called teeth effect bands. This method worked for me so I don't see why it wouldn't work for you and it is affordable. Good Luck
Answer
Possibly. A dentist may be able to remove some of the skin that is between the two teeth at the gum line. Then the teeth will probably move together by themselves. Or a dentist may also just fill in the space with a bit of tooth colored filling, making the two front teeth a little bit bigger than they are now. Go to a dentist and they will talk with you and see what is the best for your teeth and your budget.

I had a gap between my two front teeth for years. I went to the dentist to see possible ways of closing it and the cost was outrageous. Then I discovered a product called "teeth effect bands" which removes the teeth gaps for under $20 dollars. After using the bands for a month I no longer have a gap and love my new improved smile.
Answer
Yes, the home remedy is to use dental rubber bands to pull the two teeth together. Simply place one rubber band on the two front teeth at night. This remedy is used all over the world for "slight gaps." Depending on your age, (it works best with children) it could take up to one year to get the results. The longer you wear the band the faster it works. Do not make the band too tight for this could cause gum problems; yet the band has to be tight enough to do the job. See below regarding use on children.
Answer
Yes, it sure can. I ordered the "teeth effect bands". They are a bit expensive, for some bands. I have been wearing them for about 4 days. The first 3 days were killer. They hurt, but a couple pain killers will do the job. After 3 days I felt no more pain and I was able to wear the bands through out the day, because they are transparent. My gap is pretty big and its already moving together.
Answer
I have been wearing the teeth effect bands for 38 days now. I had a fairly large gap ... and its about a week left for it to be closed completely. I am very happy with the results so far considering the bands are cheap, and work!
Answer
Hi! Well I just bought the "teeth effect bands." Today is my second day. I have a gap and before starting the bands, I was able to stick my tongue through the space in my two front teeth. Amazingly enough, I can't anymore and I'm so excited about what is going to take place. I have been hiding my smile for 22 years (I'm only 22)and I'm finally going to see what it feels like to have a radiant smile! I can't wait! Don't pay a lot of money when you can fix your smile for almost nothing at all! ~SLT

u should try teethgap.com or Sillyscarlet on Ebay
ok. if you want your gap to be long-time gone and never appear again then get braces or something. If you are saving up for braces or something && want to do something really quick to get rid of a gap until then, use teeth effect bands. NO they are NOT going to permanently close it, because of a tissue between the two front teeth. I am wearing them right now, just until i get my braces next month. They HURT REAL bad for the first 3 days...they DO close your gap though. what i do is wear them all night when i am sleeping and then all day i won't have a gap. but it opens slightly after so many hours. I love them, for a cheap quick solution. &&. yes they do form other gaps beside your two front teeth, but since my gap is not that big its not really a big deal for me. See below regarding permanent closure

You can either use:
1. Teeth Effect Bands
2- Bonding (white fillings).
3- Porcelain veneers.
But orthodontics is the best choice if you teeth have no cavities, as braces do not require any grinding of your teeth.
Just to advise about having to wear always wear the bands. Only people that have a line of tissue going up on their gums that is between the teeth (its a separator that is left over from childhood) will always have to wear the bands. If you have the separator still there from childhood you will find that after taking off the braces the teeth will still come apart. There are two solutions to this problem
1. Have the teeth wired at the back or bonded so they are permanently kept together
2. Have any operation to remove the separator. With this there is still no guarantee that it won't grow back.
I also would not advise their use on children. Childrens' teeth move a great deal - at the age of 11 my son had a gap, by the time he had reached 13 he didn't. Better to wait until all the teeth have come through before you begin to alter them.
The last point to add is that if the teeth are in any way crooked you must not use teeth effect bands. The teeth will have to be straightened by an orthodentist otherwise pulling them together will make them cut into your gums.
I would also not advise letting them hurt badly, better to go as slow as you can - stetch the band so that it does not hurt.
So if your gap teeth have all come through and are straight go to Sillyscarlet on ebay, and if you have any questions specific questions you can ask Sillyscarlet who will endeavour to answer them.
